TEAM Arizona RiderCoach Commitment

Before you apply, be aware that while coaching opportunities are plentiful, the current opportunities are for part-time coaching.  We define part-time as coaching a minimum of eight times per year.  Coaching volume we typically see ranges from once per month up to six times per month.  We offer mid-week, weekend, and night time coaching opportunities.  We have a coaching need for 3Wheel, BRC2u, ARC, and Total Control certified coaches as well.  You will be using Instructor Zone to tell us when you may be available to coach.

TEAM Arizona requires coaching at least eight classes per year. Depending on location flexibility and varied scheduling options, you can expect to coach one to six classes per month.

All TEAM Arizona coaches are hired as part time employees.

TEAM Arizona has four major areas; Phoenix Metro, Tucson, Prescott Valley (Northern Arizona), and Sierra Vista (Southern Arizona). You would be expected to teach within one of the major areas related to your residence. If you opt to coach outside of your major area, supplemental pay for meals, mileage, and lodging are provided.

As a, experienced, currently certified RiderCoach in the BRC Updated curriculum, we would start you at the top base rate for each class. For a Basic Rider Course, the current rate for a classroom and range coach is $483. The current rate for range only is $322.

We are constantly reviewing market conditions and making adjustments when and as conditions allow.  TEAM Arizona is a private, small business and does not receive any subsidization from government agencies.

We are very proactive when creating our schedule.  We plan well in advance so you can have an easier time arranging your personal schedule.  Scheduling is primarily self selecting approximately one month in advance using the Instructor Zone function through REMS, a rider education specific database. Coaches will input their availability before or during the first week of each month to cover the following month.. The monthly schedule is typically assigned the first week of each month. You can expect follow up notifications for additional opportunities.

TEAM Arizona currently teaches the Motorcycle Safety Foundation BRC Updated course.  The format is 5×10 including 5 hours of Level 1 classroom and 10 hours of range.
Some classes replace the in person classroom portion of the BRC with a proprietary, TEAM Arizona created, Online Classroom experience. Specific coaches are trained to conduct the online classroom based on request and technical ability.

We currently have a coaching need for all courses available through TEAM Arizona.

Currently we have two full-size, privately owned rider training facilities in Gilbert and in Tucson, with a third to arrive in Prescott Valley soon.

Around the state, we have a variation of full size, compact, and modified ranges. If needed, we can provide range cards for these adjusted ranges.

As of 2022, we have a RiderCoach Trainer that can conduct and certify coaches in the BRC Updated, Advanced Riding Techniques (MSF ARC), and the 3 Wheel Basic Rider Course Updated.

In the future we are looking to add a Total Control Advanced Riding Clinic certification session.

At this time, the state of Arizona requires any certified trainer in Arizona to hold an Arizona driver’s license.

Once you are sponsored by TEAM Arizona as a part time employee, our General Manager facilitates the state certification process. This includes:

  • various application forms,
  • a current 39 month driving record,
  • an electronic fingerprinting process for a background check

Once submitted to the General Manager, the application packet is forwarded to the Arizona Dept of Transportation. Once processed by ADOT, you will receive an email to perform a certified trainer online exam from the comfort of your home. After you have become state certified, you are able to conduct any portion of the available courses including testing.
