Jason D. Parker:  Rider of the Month October 2017

We love success stories.  We particularly like Jason’s success story.  In May of 2017 Jason reached out to us via email with questions about the rider training process at our Prescott Valley location.  We could tell he was being thorough about the process and was taking control of his learning process.  We don’t take this process lightly and try to make sure every rider is as comfortable as possible.  We sufficiently answered Jason’s questions and he signed up for a Basic RiderCourse.

By July he passed his riding course and was fully endorsed!

FREEDOM RIDE

It is probably no coincidence Jason wanted to complete his course and obtain his endorsement by July 4th.  For him, motorcycling is a lot about freedom.  the freedom he feels when it is just him and his motorcycle when he’s out on the open road.

In his words:

I hate to sound cliché but when it’s just me and the open road it’s very freeing.  I rode dirt bikes growing up, but I’m new to riding motorcycles on the street.  At this point my biggest challenge is remembering where the gas and brakes are.  I still have to think about it and can’t wait for it all to become more natural.

You’re not alone Jason.  Building fine motor control skills takes time and a lot of practice.  The more natural riding becomes, the more FUN you’ll have on two wheels.

THE CLASS FROM HIS PERSPECTIVE

Jason Parker near dinosaurSometimes we hear from riders they’re not interested in making the investment in training.  That comment leaves us scratching our heads.  We wouldn’t send police or firefighters or athletes into the fray without training, why wouldn’t we train ourselves to perform the risky task of riding a motorcycle.  Jason agrees:

Woke up this morning excited to get the endorsement added to my license. The BRC class was awesome and Jon P. was a great RiderCoach to work with. I look forward to getting my own bike and taking more classes as time and finances permit. The beginners class is worth the investment!

That’s the right way to think about training.  It is an investment in your entire riding career…not just for two days.  We’re sure Jason will be out early morning on Route 66 before the tourists clog its artery.  If you see Jason, give him a wave and a smile.  Better yet, talk motorcycling with him!
