For those riders who attended a TEAM Arizona course at Glendale Community College, you may have enjoyed the RiderCoach stylings of December 2012’s RiderCoach of the Month, Paul Schaffran.

Paul is easy to find on the range as his deep, radio-friendly voice tend to get people’s attention.  His passion for providing an outstanding experience for attendees of a TEAM Arizona course are as obvious as his unlit cigar protruding from his lips.  Unique in every way, Paul strives to make each individual’s experience fun and unique too.

Paul’s foray into motorcycling started in the Air Force.  Sadly, he stopped riding after the Air Force, but resurfaced again in 2001.  He started his second journey into motorcycling by taking a TEAM Arizona Basic RiderCourse for a second time.  Then, Paul says, he was hit with a strong desire, “I wanted to hone my skills to be a better rider, so I became a Rider Coach. Then I found out I really enjoy teaching people how to ride and haven’t looked back since. It’s all about the students and watching them have fun while learning. ”

Paul’s coaching gets a big boost when he sees a student have their “A-HA” moment.  He exclaims, “When things start coming together, that is when they are starting to have fun!!!

Paul, we appreciate your efforts and hope to have you around sharing the fun for many more years to come.

Here are some more fun facts about Paul:

  • His favorite day ride is Prescott via Yarnell Hill or Payson area.
  • Honda Valkyrie Interstate is his current ride. He’s looking to get a Honda ST-1300 in the future.
  • His favorite piece of information to pass along to all riders is that full riding gear is worth its weight in GOLD!!!

Please, take time to wish Paul well-deserved CONGRATULATIONS!  We here at TEAM Arizona are proud to have him as part of the family!
