(GILBERT, AZ) – TEAM Arizona, the premier motorcycle rider training organization in Arizona, will be providing the Motorcycle Safety Foundation Basic RiderCourse to deaf individuals quarterly based on demand at TEAM Arizona headquarters in Gilbert, Arizona.

The Basic RiderCourse is a learn-to-ride class.  All deaf and hard of hearing participants will be exposed to safe riding strategies and have an opportunity to refine the gross motor skills necessary for riding a motorcycle.  Successful completion of the written and riding evaluations during the course provides a participant with a certificate they can use at the Arizona Motor Vehicle Division to obtain their motorcycle endorsement to ride legally on the road.

Since the creation of TEAM Arizona more than 30 years ago, TEAM Arizona has been diligent about making courses accessible to individuals of all skills and backgrounds in accordance with Arizona law.  This unique course offering represents TEAM Arizona’s commitment to offer a safe, fun, and consistent motorcycling experience to riders of all backgrounds and all skill levels.

Owner Ron Arieli defines why he established this course:

“We do our best to provide our services to as many cross-sections of the public as possible. Ultimately, we want the best trained, best educated riders on the roads of Arizona.”

For this reason TEAM Arizona innovated several reasonable accommodations for the participants including extensively modifying training materials, providing videos with closed captions, and providing qualified individuals who sign.

Deaf riders who are interested in the RiderCourse can sign up for the next course on March 28, 2024.  Look for the course with the description:
