Terri on her motorcycleWe all come to motorcycling in our own special way. Some folks stumble upon it.  Some people are born into it.  And some, like Terri Lynn Timm, are compelled to overcome their fears to jump in feet first.  As TEAM Arizona’s Rider of the Month for December 2012, she tells us a few things about herself, including how the loss of someone dear gave her the push she needed to take a ride on the wild side.

When did you take the Basic RiderCourse?
May 2012

What do you currently ride?
2011 883L Harley Sportster

Why did you start riding?
After losing my Mom to cancer in November, I decided I was going to live life to the fullest and try the things that I’d always wanted to do, but too afraid to do. The first goal was to ride a motorcycle. I had never shifted anything in my life, never ridden, but was always envious of the “girl bikers” I saw. I took the course in April 2012, passed, (The FIRST time!) and bought my 2011 Harley Sportster the following month.  I LOVE it!

What do you enjoy most about riding?
Riding with my husband.

What about motorcycling challenges you the most?
Being a new rider, everything is challenging! Curves are my focus lately.

What is one thing you wish you would have known about motorcycling sooner?
How fun it is!

The fun aspect to riding is what keeps us coming back for more, too, Terri.  We thank you for sharing your story and hope to see you back out on the range to practice your cornering!
