Don Morris RiderCoach

This month’s award is bittersweet.  Don Morris has coached for TEAM Arizona for more than a decade, but right before the holidays he informed us of his inability to continue his coaching career.  Heart issues and other medical concerns prevent Don from moving forward as a RiderCoach.  However, Don’s legacy as a passionate, caring RiderCoach will continue on forever at TEAM Arizona.

TEAM Arizona owner, Ron Arieli, couldn’t have expressed our affection for Don any better than in an email after Don’s retirement announcement:

We have known each other for many years. Your enthusiasm, passion and love for motorcycling was clear from the first time you stepped out on a range. You have touched the lives of many students and passed on knowledge that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.

We will miss you and I know you will stay in touch so we will still see you. Please feel free to come out to any of the ranges anytime to keep in touch with the crew.

For those of you unfortunate enough to have missed Don along the way, we want to share with you a bit about him.  Originally from Iowa, Don started riding as it was an inexpensive method of transportation to and from work in 1975.  He currently rides a 2006 Honda GoldWing but misses his 2002 VTX1800 from time to time.  If you want him to go on a ride, just consider asking him to lunch at Saguaro Lake.  Otherwise, make it a longer ride to Kartchner Caverns.  Plainly, just ask to go for a ride and we’re sure he’d find it difficult to decline.

Thank you, Don Morris, for everything you’ve done for the Arizona motorcycling community.

Please, take time to wish Don well-deserved CONGRATULATIONS!  We here at TEAM Arizona are proud to have him as part of the family!
