THE POOLES: TEAM Arizona Riders of the Month November 2013!

We are absolutely thrilled to honor our first Father/Son riding combination as Riders of the Month for November 2013. First of all, the cool factor of a father and son riding together is off the charts. Second of all, the scenario gets even cooler since they attend events and share time off of the motorcycles too. We first met Andy at a Cycle Gear Bike Night where we talked him into coming out for our TEAM Arizona Bike Night. Andy has been a regular for the past year and together with his son, Leo, they win our award!
An adroit American will notice something interesting about the spelling of their last name.
Yep, these two gents are from the United Kingdom. More specifically, they are from the High Wycombe/Maidenhead area of England. Bonus points if you know that puts them from an area near Slough, made famous by the British tv series, The Office.
Andy has been riding for thirty (30) years, since the age of 16. Currently, he has three rides from which to choose: KLR650A, ZX600R, Triumph Tiger 800XC. He laments not having initially taken a rider training course as it wasn’t required of him at that time. He takes a pragmatic approach to riding:
Take a course and learn before riding. Learn to blame yourself for what happens. You cannot trust anyone else on the road.
Leo rides his Ninja 650 to and from school. While he finds it a chore to gear up everyday, especially in the Summer heat, he makes the effort anyways. He is looking forward a very big adventure: a road trip up the California coast.
Their advice to Arizona riders? Make it over to the UK. The roads are twisty and full of fun roundabouts. You won’t regret it!
