Heather Keller 2013

Some things are irrefutable.  Some things just can’t be ignored.  Take Heather Keller for instance.  You may not notice Brodie the Wonder Dog peeking out of his Pet Ergo Dog Riding tank bag or that her shirt is occasionally on backwards because her passion for motorcycling shines through brightest and engages you instantly.  For that, she gets our vote as TEAM Arizona’s RiderCoach of the Month for January 2013.

Heather, along with trusty hubby Steve, served TEAM Arizona as an Ambassador by attending different events and spreading the rider training word for two years.  Their enthusiasm for promoting motorcycle rider training could not be ignored.  Last year, both Heather and Steve took the next step to become RiderCoaches.  After many hours of training, practicing, and working with mentor RiderCoaches, Heather earned the title RiderCoach.

What does Heather like most about her experience as a RiderCoach?  She says, “The big smile I have on my face as students learn to ride motorcycles.”  What challenges her most?  “Learning to walk/run fast while reading the range cards to set up the range in between exercises instead of talking to students,” admits Heather.  Students may not fully understand just how much effort RiderCoaches put into their courses, and that is okay.  It is up to us to make everything as non-invasive as possible.  The good ones, as Heather is learning, also perform swiftly and expertly.

Heather, we appreciate your passion, your desire to improve, and your willingness to share your experience with budding riders.

Here are some more fun facts about Heather:

  • Her favorite day ride is from Phoenix to Woods Canyon Lake
  • She wants every rider to:  Train to ride often, ride year round, invest in gear, and don’t be afraid to wear your gear all the time
  • She rides a 2009 Silver- Blue BMW F650GS twin with farkle that includes communication in my helmet, a tall windshield, skid plate, crash bars, HD lights, Hyper lites, Panniers with night glow stickers, and heated gear

Please, take time to wish HEATHER well-deserved CONGRATULATIONS!  We here at TEAM Arizona are proud to have her as part of the family!
