SEAN HEISEY: TEAM Arizona Rider of the Month September 2013!

TEAM Arizona works very closely with the US Military to ensure soldier safety when riding on two wheels. We even provide discounts for active soldiers to attend the Basic RiderCourse. So when Sean, a US Army infantryman, asked to take one of our courses, we were excited to bring him into the TEAM Arizona family. Little did we know that his enthusiasm for motorcycling would win us over and drive us to announce him as our TEAM Arizona Rider of the Month for September 2013.
Sean decided to take the plunge in June of this year. He’s found the ride to be thrilling. In his own words:
I love the freedom that you feel when riding, the pure exhilaration you get when you feel the wind, eyes constantly darting around to observe potential dangers and good lines through corners. There is nothing like it!
Sean’s ride hasn’t been without its challenges. Like all entry level riders, he’s found target fixation and relaxing on the motorcycle two of his biggest obstacles. He’s found the solution to those problems though: training and practice.
Being such a fresh rider, he’s discovering more and more about riding. His advice to new riders? Again, in his own words:
If you’re locking up on the bars (gripping really tight), you probably need to slow down and give yourself more time to learn. Ride at 75% of your limit. Also when riding with others remember this- you are riding together with others, but this is YOUR ride, make it your ride every time.”
We are happy to be part of Sean’s life-long journey of motorcycling excellence. We look forward to seeing him back out on the training range so that he can maximize enjoyment of his Kawasaki 650R.
