HOW DO YOU GET A THREE WHEEL (TRIKE) LICENSE?

TEAM Arizona makes obtaining a three wheel motorcycle (trike) license convenient, safe, and FUN!  We’ll even provide the Can Am Spyder or three wheeled vehicle (trike), helmet, and gloves.  If you already own a three wheel vehicle, you may be able to bring it to the course to learn on what you’ll be riding.  Either way, you’ll have an outstanding opportunity to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to pass the written and riding tests.

WHAT WILL I LEARN IN THE THREE WHEEL (TRIKE) COURSE?

Three Wheel Basic RiderCourse Get Your Trike Endorsement LicenseIn our Three Wheel Basic RiderCourse you will learn the fundamentals of riding safely.  We’ll also provide the written and riding evaluation that will enable you to get your three wheel (trike) motorcycle license (also known as a 3-Wheel “M” motorcycle endorsement).  Once you pass both written and riding evaluations as part of the course, you will take your completion card to Arizona Motor Vehicle Department (MVD), pay for a new license (currently $7), and they’ll add the 3-Wheel motorcycle endorsement to your license.

REALLY?  NO TESTING AT ARIZONA MVD?

Correct!  TEAM Arizona is approved by the Arizona Department of Transportation and MVD to offer our course which includes testing.  Pass the course and you’ll be able to start your riding adventures without any additional testing required from MVD. The 3-Wheel motorcycle endorsement  provided through the course allows you to ride any 3-Wheel vehicles without restriction. You’ll be able to just get out and RIDE!

  1. Is the M endorsement just for three wheels or is there just one M endorsement in AZ for 2 or 3 wheels?

  2. Great question Charlee. Riders who attend and pass our 3 Wheel Basic RiderCourse receive a 3 Wheel endorsement which restricts them to legally ride three wheel vehicles only. The two wheel Basic RiderCourse allows riders to ride either two OR three wheels.

  3. hi if i add a trike conversion kit to a 2 wheel motorcycle does it make it a three wheel. and does the lincese i get for three wheel by arizona make it legal to ride.

  4. Hello Jason; thank you for your question.

In Arizona, it is required to have a “3W” endorsement (license) in order to ride a 3 wheel vehicle on the roadway. This 3W endorsement limits the holder to three wheeled vehicles only.

If a rider already possesses an “M” endorsement, that enables the person to ride BOTH two and three wheeled vehicles. Therefore, if you already possess your “M” endorsement from previously riding your two wheel motorcycle, then you would legally be able to ride the converted trike with that “M” endorsement.
