Get Well Soon Jim Barnett

It is with great sadness that we announce Jim Barnett has been stricken with a terrible illness which has left him debilitated and hospitalized.  He is currently in an observation room at a Mesa hospital receiving treatment.  Currently the medical professionals think he may have one of three illnesses, but they say it is too soon to know for sure.  We are awaiting several different lab tests to see if there are any conclusive results.  Our thoughts go out to the Barnett family during this difficult time.

Jim has served as a RiderCoach at TEAM Arizona for more than 15 years.  He’s a former Army Paratrooper and a Southern Gentleman.  He’s performed more than 1,500 courses and trained more than 7,000 riders during his time as a RiderCoach and has made a massive difference in the Arizona motorcycling community.

If RiderCoach Jim has touched your life in a positive way and you’d like to send him a get well card, please direct all cards and/or gifts to:

  1. Praying for you Jim! I’m in tears! My favorite rider coach! Can he have visitors? I would love to come and visit. I know you will pull through!

  2. Thank you for the kind words Jamie. We will definitely let him know. We are awaiting test results. Currently he cannot have visitors (non-responsive). We hope to know more soon and will be providing updates on our Facebook page.

  3. Scott; thank you for asking about RiderCoach Jim. Yes, he is now home and battling through physical therapy. It was determined he had West Nile Virus which lead to meningitis and encephalitis. Not a fun trip for sure. Looks like he should make mostly a full recovery. We hope to have him back and coaching before the end of the year!
